Powering Sustainability with Electric Cars

Why the Future of Transportation Must Be Sustainable and What Can We Do?

Transportation plays a vital role in sustainable development and impacts individuals across the globe. It’s important to explore and implement strategies for a sustainable, economically viable, efficient, and accessible transportation system. Neglecting this can harm the environment.

A report by Texas A&M Transportation Institute, in 2020, average American commuter was stuck in traffic approximately 54 hours a year, equivalent to two days,  and this leads to a significant economic burden from traffic congestion. This situation results not only in wasted time but also in the depletion of financial resources, adversely impacting both the environment and public health.

But we can make a change because transportation is the daily basis of how we live, work, and connect, and we have the control. Making public transportation sustainable is not just an environmental goal; it's essential for our economy and society. Inaction will lead to increased carbon emissions and harm our well-being

Achieve Success With Green Wheels

According to Acropolium, eco-friendly transportation methods yield enduring economic advantages by lowering fuel consumption, enhancing energy efficiency, and optimizing logistical processes. So, sustainable transportation not only supports environmental conservation but also leads to long-term benefits, such as

  • Saving on expenses
  • Maintenance of infrastructure
  • Reduced government expenses on imported fuels
  • Decreased healthcare expenses due to improved air quality provide substantial financial benefits for public institutions.

Keep reading to discover how these strategies can foster positive change.

Reasons Why Electric Cars Are the Key to Better Days?

Before exploring electric vehicles (EVs), it is important to recognize the environmental impact of gasoline-powered cars. Sustain Life noted these vehicles are responsible for 41% of CO2 emissions in the transportation sector worldwide. This is primarily due to their release of carbon dioxide, greenhouse gases (GHGs), and harmful pollutants such as nitrogen oxides (NOx) and sulfur oxides (SOx), which negatively impact air quality, public health, and the natural environment. In contrast, EVs do not emit GHGs, making them a cleaner and more sustainable transportation option.

Introducing EVs: Environmentally Friendly and Sustainable.

First, let’s look at the environmental benefits of EVs, Resources.org highlighted that incorporating plug-in electric vehicles, such as the plug-in variant of the Ford Escape, which features a gasoline engine and a sizable and large battery that can be charged from an external power source, into the US vehicle fleet would significantly enhance local air quality and climate throughout the vehicles’ lifetimes.

Therefore, transitioning from gasoline-powered vehicles to electric vehicles is an important step for protecting our environment and creating a sustainable transportation system. Adopting electric vehicles can greatly decrease harmful emissions and contribute to combating climate change.

But What is Reality?

Of course, we have to acknowledge that electric vehicles can still come with a high price, which is a significant barrier for many people. For electric cars to become widespread, we need to:

  • Invest and create additional affordable options
  • Supportive infrastructure
  • Improved government incentives and rebates

It is beneficial for the environment and the economy when vehicles for transportation become available and affordable.

Sustainability and the SDGs: A Roadmap to a Greener, Fairer Future

Imagine a small coastal town where the sea rises a little higher each year, where farmers struggle to grow crops in drying soil, and where young people dream of opportunities that seem just out of reach.   Now imagine this town isn’t alone, but one of thousands facing similar challenges across the globe.    1. What are the 17 SDGs?  2. How SDGs Relate to Sustainability?   3. Where do We Stand? A Reality Check on the SDGs.     What are the 17 SDGs?     The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the cornerstone of the  2030 Agenda.  These goals were adopted during the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit in 2015, with the vision of a world that is prosperous, sustainable, and free of poverty.            Each goal addresses a key area of sustainable development such as clean water, good health, quality education, gender equality, and climate action. And although they are separately equal...

The Dirty Truth About Microplastics "How Your Clothes Pollute the Planet"

I never thought about what happens after I wash clothes. It's a routine thing to put some clothes in washing machine and turn the button on and then walk away.  But one day I stumbled upon a headline: "Your clothes are polluting the ocean." It sounded dramatic. But then I read more. Every time I washed my favourite hoodie which is made out of polyester I figured out I was releasing thousands of microplastic fibers into the water system. They were invisible. I couldn't see them, touch them, or pick them up. But they were there  and flowing into rivers, lakes, and the ocean. These microplastics, smaller than 5 mm, don't break down. They stay put. They float. They sink. They are eaten by fish, shellfish, and even birds. And eventually... us. It is estimated that synthetic textiles are responsible for a global discharge of between 0.2 and 0.5 million tonnes of microplastics into the oceans each year (Sherrington, 2016; Ellen MacArthur Foundation, 2017 ). The s...

Individual contributions helps to reduce CO₂ Emissions while travelling

Everyone one want to travel by Air because they want to safe their time and connects people across continents, growth economies, and makes the world feel smaller. Passengers are important for the Airlines Company and safety of aircraft but who will safe the climate thousand of aircraft millions passengers causing the environment about 2–3% of global CO₂ emission IATA which becoming the cause of climate change, the role of the individual traveler has never been more important. We don’t have to stop flying altogether but we do need to start flying smarter. https://www.istockphoto.com/ In this blog, we explore practical, everyday choices that travelers can make to reduce their environmental footprint without sacrificing the joy of travel. Fly less, Travel better Contribution for the quality life travel more enjoy but considering one things which is most important your contribution for the sustainable future. Every trips has cost of effecting the environment .It is the time travel m...
